I read way more non-fiction than anything else.  My background is in architecture and construction consulting, but when I was younger I worked several seasons on a blueberry farm, and volunteered as a Motorman on the Willamette Shore Trolley.  Rail is in my blood, since my grandfather was a freight conductor for the Union Pacific.  I read a lot about steam-age rail and logging, as well as gardening, farming, and history.
