Martin Millar is an author I have only recently encountered. he specializes in writing short novels that hilariously mix myth, rock & roll, and a light hearted attitude without making any of them gimmicky. He is a delightful dose of insanity that will keep you laughing from moment you pick up the book.
Millar comes highly recommended by Neil Gaiman, another favorite author of mine. They frequently share many themes, and the idea of taking myth and throwing it unmodified in a world of technology and mass production. It's an idea that can go in so many directions a mere two authors, no matter how prolific nor well recieved, could ever cover it all.
Of course, the use of myth is not the only way to make a read fun. Douglas Adams proved this with his phenomenal hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which relies on nothing except his clever writing style.
Thus I present a short selection of amusing tales that are easy reads, and oh so very much fun.
