Inflectionism is a poetic movement grown out of discussions among three Portland poets.  They sought more organic poetry that respected both poet and reader, both words and interpretation--without overexplanation byt a celebration of what the reader brings to a poem's conversation.  Art is intrinsically a social interaction that invites, in fact requires, reader participation--to create a dialogue that broadly yet personally resonates, to nourish the poem's meaning, to truly define it.  The founders don't seek to control the definition of Inflectionism but encourage other poets to discover their own definitions.  Our definitions are merely roots. "A Pure River" by John Sibley Williams Having escaped westward- following the traditional headwinds- finally I am resting, eyes closed, upon the horizon exhausted form seeing  forever forward resurrection and the dream of resurrection.   Below me coils mountain water clear and silent which I know  must one day diffuse with a world disordered-- salt and ship.   But for now clarity as in transparency. Silence as in a perfect pitch.   May my hands forever be a pure river I do not recognize.   John Sibley Williams is a poet and book publicist residing in Portland, OR.  His poetry was nominated for the 2009 Pushcart Prize, and his debut chapbook, A Pure River, is forthcoming from The Last Automat Press.  Previous publications incude Euphony, Cutthroat, Red Wheelbarrow, and River Oak Review. A. Molotkov is a writer, composer, filmmaker, and visual artist.  Although he has been writing fiction and poetry for over 25 years, his more recent involovement with other art forms allows him to approach the creative process from various angles, with individual parts contributing to a greater whole.  His fiction and poetry has appeared in a variety of publications, both in print and online. Shawn Austin is co-founder of the Portland-based poetry meetup group, The Moonlit Poetry Caravan.  He credits history, art, his work in the field of mental health, and the climate of the Northwest as major influences that come peeking out of his writing.
